Heather Trost Covers Harry Nilsson's 'Jump Into The Fire' Ahead Of Album 'Petrichor'

Singer/songwriter, and composer Heather Trost has released her new version of the Harry Nilsson classic “Jump Into The Fire". An official music video for the song takes us on a psychedelic road trip through the American southwest complete with vintage cars.

Trost explains:

"I covered 'Me and My Arrow' by Harry Nilsson on my last album, so it made sense to do a Nilsson song for Petrichor to continue the homage. Jeremy Barnes and I took the original guitar riff out, which other than the lyrics is the most catchy and recognizable part of the song. Instrumentally, our version of the song owes more to Bo Diddley and German bands from the 70s.”

“Jump Into The Fire” precedes Trost’s new album, Petrichor, due via Third Man Records on November 6. Limited edition “sand” colored vinyl will be available at select indie stores on release day.

Regarding the album, Trost says:

“Even though shit had yet to hit the fan when I wrote these songs. 2019 also felt like such a crazy year in terms of what was happening in the world, I felt like I needed to remind myself to have joy and love in my heart. It’s something I meditate on a lot, especially when it seems like the world is ending.”
