Nashville-based band The Brummies have been releasing a string of singles and videos, begging the question: is there an album on the way? Tower's PULSE! is excited to reveal that yes, new album Automatic World, is not only on the way, its release is set for November 13th.

The band is composed of John Davidson, Jacob Bryant, and Trevor Davis, and their previous singles this Spring and summer have included "Hillside", "Sunshine", and "After Midnight" and here on Tower's PULSE! today, we're debuting their single "Fever Dream" for you.

John Davidson gives us his thoughts on "Fever Dream":

“Fever Dream” came quickly as we wrote it, “Sunshine,” and “Island” back-to-back-to-back in a three day span with our buddy Joe Hertler. It’s a sneakily sultry song about desire that we got creative on sonically. The musically ambitious second verse was the first thing we tackled in pre-production for the album. And some of the transitions on this song are unconventional. For example, at the end of the bridge, we used the clicking of a wrench, the zip of a zipper, and a pitched down “oh” vocal simultaneously to create the desired effect."

Jacob Bryant adds:

"John had this guitar thing going one day on the back porch at my studio in Nashville, TN and I started just singing along and the lyrics to the chorus just came out immediately."

Trevor David reminds us of the following details:

"The licks and pauses in the 2nd verse was the very first thing we started on when we were in pre-production. It was fun to get all those parts together nice and tight. There is a zipper and wrench sounds in the recording going into the chorus."

As for the new album, Automatic World, we can bring you more insider information from the band. Apparently, it's a record "built around the theme of déjà vu". The album was produced by The Brummies along with Jarrad Kritzstein (Ruston Kelly) and Austin Jenkins (Leon Bridges).

In addition to the songs that have already been revealed, the album will contain tracks like "Cherry Blossom", "Call Me", and "Been Here Before".

Jacob Bryant comments:

"Déjà vu, futures past, all of that comes together in this record in a musical way. There are future sounds, but they are mixed with the old. Eternal Reach was all about recording to tape and capturing the vintage vibe. We recorded a lot of this the same way, but we expanded it sonically — there are a lot more synthesizers and production."

John Davidson leaves us with these thoughts about their new album:

"We do whatever comes natural to us. There is nothing overly intentional. You think about bands that you listened to as you grew up, and when they came out with something completely different than what they did before, you wondered why they didn't do the same thing. But bands have to follow whatever that thing is that's pushing them forward or inspiring them. You live for those moments."
