Big Joanie Announces 7" From Third Man Featuring 'Cranes In The Sky' & 'It's You'

The band Big Joanie has announced a 7" record featuring the Solange cover "Cranes In The Sky" and "It's You" due out August 14, 2020 via Third Man Records.

The band has also announced a socially-distanced, masks-required release show at Ecstatic Peace Library Record Store at BOLT in their hometown of London, UK on August 15, 2020.

Entry to the event, which is co-presented by Third Man Records and Daydream Library Series, is free with a Dice ticket (extremely limited, available from Tuesday, August 4 at 10am BST). Proceeds from the donation bar will benefit Girls Rock London and Decolonise Fest.

Big Joanie is also currently working on their next full-length album, to be released on Kill Rock Stars.

Big Joanie are a Black Feminist Punk band who describe themselves as "The Ronettes filtered through 80s DIY and 90s riot grrrl, with a sprinkling of dashikis."

Based in London, UK, Big Joanie formed in the summer of 2013 to play at First Timers (a gig where each band plays their set for the very first time) at the close of the year. The band also functioned as a space where its members (Stephanie Phillips, Chardine Taylor-Stone, and Estella Adeyeri) could be "completely themselves as black women and discover their own power in creativity". Since their formation, they've opened for such notable acts as Bikini Kill, Sleater-Kinney, The Raincoats and Parquet Courts.
