Rozzi Releases 'Orange Skies' To Benefit West Coast Wildfire Relief Funds

Singer/songwriter Rozzi recently released her relatable quarantine single “Best Friend Song”. Now, she's dropped the single “Orange Skies” from S-Curve Records/BMG, a reflective ballad about the disastrous fires that have recently ravaged her home state of California.

Rozzi, her co-writer/producer, Eric Leva, and her label, S-Curve Records will donate a portion of proceeds to The American Red Cross (Western Wildfires) and the Bay Area’s Sonoma Family Meal. Rozzi shares:

"I wrote ‘Orange Skies’ the last time my state was in flames. It was December of 2019 and Los Angeles was covered in smoke. I remember breathing that air as I walked to my friend Eric’s house, where we felt pulled to write about the fires and about climate change. Despite the massiveness of the issue, I knew I wanted to make the song personal - because of course the underlying issue itself is personal. Climate change isn’t some mythical thing happening to other people, in other places - it’s happening right now, right outside our doors - and we wanted to highlight that intimacy. A few weeks ago, when images showed my hometown San Francisco under literal orange skies, I knew we had to finish and release the song and donate the royalties to organizations helping with the relief efforts."

Joanne Nowlin, CEO of the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region comments:

The Western United States has faced an unprecedented wildfire season, and we are so thankful for the hundreds of volunteers and generous donors like Rozzi, who help make our work possible. There are several more weeks of wildfire season ahead, and we are preparing for what might happen and how best to help those affected up and down the coast.”

Fans will have new opportunities to experience Rozzi’s live shows at the KZZO Wildfire Benefit - Drive-in Concert Livestream on October 24th and the Gritty In Pink Election Night Livestream on November 3rd, with other online live performances to be announced shortly. The artist has also been teasing new releases in 2021.
