Digitally remastered edition. Perhaps best known as a one-time member of Bill Black's Combo, saxophonist Ace Cannon began his solo career with a major hit first time out, with 'Tuff' becoming a Top Twenty pop and Top Ten R&B hit in 1961, quickly followed by further success with 'Blues (Stay Away From Me)'. In the wake of this success his record label Hi Records assembled the album Tuff Sax, which would prove to be another hit, making the Top Thirty in it's own right. While this would prove to be the pinnacle of Ace's chart career, he has continued to be a major and popular figure on the music scene and is still touring and performing into his eighties, a remarkable show of longevity.
