Of Nigerian descent, ALEX BOYÉ (pronounced Boy-yay) was raised in London where he began his music career in the successful European boy band Awesome, selling over half a million albums before moving to the US to pursue a career as a solo artist. The inspiration from the album title Coming To Amerika comes from Eddie Murphy's movie. " Coming to America was one of my favorite movies growing up," shares Boyé. "I came from England to America literally following a dream I had. In the dream, I was surrounded by a salty lake. When I arrived in Salt Lake City, Utah, my mom would say in her African accent - Alex, how is everything going in Amer-i-ka and she spelled it with a 'k' so I decided to spell the album title, Coming To Amerika, with a 'k' as well!"
