CD reissue. Spectacular moments on tracks such as "Missing Spore" and "Golden Gate Chaos" will send shivers down your spine. This may be one of the best soundtracks of the last two decades, not only because it is perfectly suited to the film it accompanies, but also because it stands on it's own as music and harkens back to the 1970s/1980s golden age of film scores. Alexandre Desplat's score stands on it's own with an inspired, oriental sound that resonates with the weight of the emotion played through- out the film. Desplat does a great job at paralleling the scenes that take place in the film by matching up the perfect tone. The 2014 Godzilla is the King of the Monster Movies, and Alexandre Desplat is the King of Monster Movie Music.
