Originally recorded and released in 1997 this is the first CD on Bob's Riversong Records. The river was important in the manufacturing of cotton goods produced in the mill town of Lowell, Massachusetts where Bob grew up. The town along the river represents a theme running through some of the songs on this recording. The songs depict a broad spectrum of mill town life including hobos catching freight trains, street life, a portrait of Stella Kerouac and much more. Bob Martin-vocals, guitar & harmonica, Ray Brunelle-drums, Kent Allyn-bass, Edie Martin-piano and Bill Martin-guitar. Bill Morrissey, Cormac McCarthy, Jack Write, Anne Marie Martin and Rosie Buesking chorus on "Goin' Home".
