Following 5 years of hibernation, venerable indie record label Le Grand Magistery (Momus, Stars, Pas/Cal) resurfaces with it's first ever 7" release, featuring Chicago via Colombia con Cuba band Divino Niño. Both sides of this psycho-bambino-latino single was produced by Le Grand Magistery stalwart Casimer Pascal (of Pas/Cal and Casimir & Casimer) during the first winter these South American transplants endured. Woman (single) is a departure from the floral, surf-infused psychedelia found on their debut LP, Pool Jealousy, released last year on The Native Sound. Side A (Woman): a Tarantino-esque five minute '70s groove-driven journey that weaves in an out of Latin percussion bursts, Farfisa organ, slide guitar solos and Everly Brother era vocals dipped in digital delay. Side B (The Dark Ballad of Kennedy Lady): a cold love affair inspired by Bogata's most notorious neighborhood which borrows it's name from America's most beloved first lady.
