Description

Artist: Donny Hathaway
Title: Come Back Charleston Blue (Original Soundtrack)
Product Type: VINYL LP

Limited 180gm audiophile vinyl LP pressing in PVC protective sleeve. Jazz, soul and blues artist Donny Hathaway recorded the music to the movie Come Back, Charleston Blue back in 1972. The film, which was shot in Harlem, is perfectly fine in the hands of Hathaway. He creates the whole feeling of being part of the story in '70s New York. The influences of Hathaway on the American soul music are widely known and he is showing some of his best pieces on this soundtrack. His classic 'Little Ghetto Boy' is incredibly soulful and funky at the same time. His vocals can be heard on 'Tim's High'. Most impressive is the album as a whole, while he is switching between ragtime, Latin American music and jazz. A must have for every 70s jazz and funk enthusiast.
