In the artist's own words about the album: "My coming of age album. It is a collection of observations on my life, career, the road, the political atmosphere of the world, and finding redemption in compromise. Musically, I further explore early American music, Jazz origins, Baroque writing, Brazilian rhythms, and finally utilize my college training in orchestration."
