Jack Jones - the son of actor/singer Allan Jones and actress Irene Hervey - has carved out a long, successful career, despite performing in a style which was already fast becoming obsolete when he cut his first sessions, in the late 50s. Indeed, he wouldn't make significant commercial headway until he began recording for Kapp Records, in 1960. This compilation reissues Jones' entire Kapp output between 1960-62, comprising four albums: "Shall We Dance" (1961), "This Was My Love" (1961), "I've Got A Lot Of Livin' To Do" (1962) and "Gift Of Love" (1962); plus a handful of 45s, which include his first major US hit, 'Lollipops And Roses'. Jack's early recording career, for Capitol between 1957-59, is anthologised on another Jasmine release, "This Could Be The Start Of Something" (JASCD 551).
