'Master Terry Riley's new album will be released in 2023! Master Terry Riley, known for his masterpieces such as 'A Rainbow in Curved Air' and 'in C,' currently resides in Japan. The long-awaited new album was recorded in Kobuchizawa, Yamanashi Prefecture, right after arriving in Japan in early spring 2020, before deciding to move there. The title of the new album is 'Terry Riley STANDARD(S)AND -Kobuchizawa Sessions #1-' (SHIGERU-001). Comprised of JAZZ standards and original compositions, this work is colored with a wide range of sounds from precise and delicate piano and psychedelic synthesizers, and is a masterpiece that clearly records his essence as an 'improviser'. Of the 10 songs, 6 are cover songs and 4 are original songs. He became familiar with JAZZ standards when he was young and lived in Paris, which led to this cover work.
