Ron Carter needs no introduction in the jazz world is a claim beyond controversy. In Brazil, the people there call him "the bass player of Brazil", Two selections, the famous "Samba de Orfeu", and "Manha de Carnaval", come from the Brazilian canon, but the rest are originals inspired by Carter's Brazilian experiences.
