Kenny Howes writes songs, makes and produces records, and jumps and kicks on stage. He's from the South, but now he's in the West. He fully embraces his influences yet constantly redefines his own musical guidelines. He continues to carry the torch for traditional power-pop and rock-n-roll while eschewing the trappings of the form. Reverent, yes. Copycat? No!!! He just wants to rock. His former band Kenny Howes and the Yeah! (1998-2001) released their only group CD on Royal Fuzz in March 2002 under the title 'Kenny Howes & the Yeah!' It was recorded by Athens producer David Barbe (late of Sugar and Mercyland.) In late 2002, Los Angeles label TallBoy Records decided to give wider release to the CD, and it was renamed 'Until Dawn.' The Yeah! Was formed by Kenny Howes, who had gained considerable attention as a solo artist. Kenny had released four solo CDs of original material, nothing wrong with that (1995), Kenny Howes' Second Album (1996), Back To You Today! (1998), and a best-of compilation The Right Idea (2000). In addition to writing, Kenny co-produced and performed on his solo records nearly single-handedly, overdubbing most of the instruments and all the voices himself. Howes relocated to California in 2003.
