January, 28th, 2012 set out to be the most memorable birthday for Krystal A. Livingston as it was the day she debuted her long-awaited first CD, entitled 'My Journey, His Glory'. Krystal is a vocalist and actress from the Bronx, NY who always knew that she wanted to grace stages worldwide since childhood. Performing in the church from a young age pushed Krystal to quickly overcome stage fright and shyness as she sang and acted throughout the country as a part of one of Harlem, NYs premier young adult choirs, Words of Life, and as a member of the Real Life Theatre Troupe of Bethel Gospel Assembly. At the University of New Haven (UNH), where Krystal majored in Forensic Science, she continued to remain active in the performing arts. As a second-semester freshman, Krystal was voted Student Director of The Harmonies, UNH's a capella group. During her sophomore year, she founded and directed the UNH Gospel Choir until graduating in 2001. In 2005, she returned to UNH as the first Adjunct Professor in the Music Department to teach Gospel Music Performance until 2007. As an established vocalist, Krystal has gone on tour with musical phenom, Josh Groban and the legendary Kenny Loggins singing background for both artists and was recently featured on Christian artist, Aracelis Vazquez's 'Altar of Heaven' CD. Krystal is a member of New Life Christian Fellowship in Ledyard, CT (Pastors Johnny & Sharon Burns) where she serves in the Music Ministry. 'My Journey, His Glory': This first CD from Krystal is a peek into the varied writing/musical stylings and revealing testimony of this thirty-something, Bronx, NY native. She says that 'the CD will take the listener for a journey through some of my life's struggles and trials for the first part of the CD ('My Journey'). It then continues to lead the listener to experience the presence of God through melodic praise & worship music in the second half of the CD, ('His Glory'). Krystal wants listeners to realize that all the experiences along her journey, was for her making and ultimately to bring glory and honor to God. She seeks to serve as an example and an inspiration for those who have gone through or are going through similar situations to let them know that 'God is in control and will work everything out for our good!' 'My Journey, His Glory' is a Gospel CD infused with Contemporary Christian, Neo-soul, and Traditional Gospel musical stylings, and most of the CD displays Krystal's varied, yet true and skillful songwriting talent. Most of the CD was produced by Levester 'Junior' Jones, a talented musician and songwriter, but it also features veteran songwriter/musician, Timothy Johnson on 'The Lord is Good' (written by Pastor Pamela Hughes) and another veteran musician/producer C. Lamont Williams on 'Love, Mercy, & Grace'. 'My Journey, His Glory' is a enjoyable CD that will positively and most certainly make the listener bounce in praise, wave their hand in worship, and relax their hearts and minds in blessed reflection. Listener favorites include 'Shoelaces' and the cross-over hit, 'Step of Faith'.
