Celebrate 50 Years of Guitar-Driven Rock With Wishbone Ash
Well, let me start by saying that Tower Records has a large number of the seminal classic rock band Wishbone Ash's records in stock, but today's arrival in shop is their famous Live Dates double album, recorded in 1973 as their first live release.
Not only that, but the release takes the form of a special limited edition vinyl with two records, one blue and one yellow, bringing Live Dates back to fans after too long an absence.
The special deluxe package includes the following: OBI strip, Gatefold jacket with two pockets, printed inner sleeves and translucent Yello & Blue Vinyl with the original record labels.
For those who are new to the band, 2019 marked 50 years on the scene for them, touring relentlessly and releasing enough music to fill a 30 CD set so far. Wishbone Ash, who was in the forefront of pioneering the use of twin lead guitars, influenced the sound of bands like Thin Lizzy, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Iron Maiden, and Opeth.
Wishbone Ash planned, naturally, to celebrate their half-century mark in style, kicking off a big tour in October 2019 that was meant to span the globe into summer and Fall of 2020. But things changed on us, making things uncertain. Keep an eye on their website to find out about their tour plans here.
But what better way to support the band than by picking up their special release?
