Diana DeMuth's debut album, Misadventure, arrived on September 25th from Thirty Tigers. The album had been preceded by the release of singles "Hotel Song," "Rose of Nantucket," "Steady Rolling", a cover of Two Gallants' hit, "Into My Arms," which came with a video featuring Wesley Schultz from The Lumineers, and "All The Liars."
Simone Felice produced the DeMuth's 2020 debut album, Misadventure, along with David Baron. DeMuth has announced tour dates with The Lumineers, as well as with Jade Bird, Vance Joy, Bat For Lashes, Noah Kahan, Phoebe Bridgers, Felice Brothers, Conor Oberst, and Matt Maeson.
The new album was reportedly recorded in the at a Catskill Mountains outside Woodstock and the collection shows DeMuth's concerns for storytelling and Folk traditions.
Reflecting on the release of her album, DeMuth says,
"Making this album has been life changing in so many ways. I put every ounce of myself into it and I hope people hear that when they listen. Working with Simone Felice and David Baron was a dream come true and I can’t wait for listeners to hear the story that is Misadventure."
Simone Felice explains:
“Diana’s voice and her poetry always transport me to a teenage summer night, mischief and wonder down dark country roads, the northern lights dancing in the distance. Misadventure is the gateway drug into her world, I have a strong feeling it will be a long and winding road trip full of soul and mystery for years to come.”
Co-producer David Baron adds:
“Diana DeMuth’s debut record cuts to the heart with her raw emotional vocals. She is a natural storyteller - spinning tails of dreamers, lovers, and grifters. The musical arrangements enhance the songs without overwhelming the poetry. She is that rare artist that marries passion with songs that are both timeless and meaningful."
