Mildlife's Kevin McDowell Reveals The Inner Machinery Of 'Automatic' On Tower's Live Show

Kevin McDowell of the Melbourne-based band Mildlife joined our Tower Instagram Live show, hosted by Dani Pinkus, to talk about their recent album release, Automatic.

This show features in-depth discussion about several of the songs from the release, pretty much in a track-by-track breakdown. Dani Pinkus observes how "meticulous" the craftsmanship is on the songs we find on Automatic, and McDowell largely confirms that by sharing stories about getting the guitar parts right on "Rare Air".

McDowell also discusses the ways in which lyrics fit into the band's output and how they find balance between the music and the lyrics, not actually placing the lyrics in a dominant position the way that many bands do. He gives us further insights into the rise of the Melbourne music scene, the band's touring experiences with King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, and much more.
