New Latin collaboration “Los Del Espacio” finds eight Argentinian artists coming together to create the next late-night-outing hit. Most of these artists have collaborated with each other on songs before, usually in pairs, each bringing in their unique talent and approach to the music. LIT killah, Duki, Tiago PZK, and FMK are most known for their Argentinian trap, popular among young people in Argentina and expanding in interest through other parts of Latin America. Rusherking, while also doing trap, has more cumbia, acoustic, and pop-leaning songs than his trapper counterparts. Maria Becerra and Emilia, the women in the group, lean slightly more towards urban pop, with trap and cumbia influences apparent in their music as well. Finally, Big One produces most of these artists’ individual as well as collaborative songs. All of their catalogs considered, a multiple of genres under the Latin umbrella are covered.

Even though the primary genres in the song are trap and urban pop, “Los Del Espacio” depicts different aspects of each artist’s style and forte since it was done in a collaborative, diversified manner. For example, the danceable beat distinctive of reggaeton that is admirably entwined with strong EDM influences unmistakably heard in the pre-choruses is attributed to Big One’s production. While the short, catchy melodies sung by Emilia and Maria Becerra represent an urban pop ideal, the rhyming, explicit lyrics delivered by the rest of the group portray parts of the trap and cumbia scenes of Latin America.

The opening line “te invito a dar una vuelta con los del espacio” invites both the muse and the listener on a night out with the group ‘Los Del Espacio,’ whom, according to the song, are the best group to party with. Briefly translated, the main idea describes how the night was spent dancing until sunrise and conquering their love interest. Although these topics might be common, the track finds a way to be unique through its well thought-out lyrics and mixes of beats, and is successful at keeping the listener entertained by all of the different voices and styles. A collaboration like this also strategically cultivates interest in and promotes Latin music and Argentinian artists.

“Los Del Espacio” is significant because it represents a coming-together of the Argentinian artist collective to encourage a sense of community and prevent the comparisons made between artists that are usually inevitable in the music industry. The track also holds importance for the Argentinian listener because it came a few months after the country’s win at the 2022 Fútbol World Cup, serving as a good way to continue to celebrate their culture and companionship. “Le gustan Argentinos, quiere un campeón del mundo” roughly translates to ‘[she] likes Argentinians, [she] wants a world champion,’ an ode to the nation’s long-awaited victory.

The collaboration was well-received by the public, with its announcement instantly fostering excitement within the youth and becoming a frequent topic of conversation after its release. The track has the potential to reach a wider audience due to its mainstream appeal and variety of sounds.
