The Raconteurs Roll Out Live At Electric Lady EP and Documentary with Jim Jarmusch

The Raconteurs, including Jack White, Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence, and Patrick Keeler have released a new EP, Live at Electric Lady, exclusively on Spotify.

The seven live tracks were recorded in late 2019 at the legendary New York City studio Electric Lady, including their staple songs “Level” and “Old Enough” alongside tracks from last year’s album, Help Us Stranger.

The documentary that accompanies the release, now available to view on Youtube, also features a special introduction from fan-favorite filmmaker Jim Jarmusch and a bonus studio version of Richard Hell and the Voidoids’ “Blank Generation", also recorded the same day as the other live tracks.

The EP on Spotify is also "visually enhanced" with a number of Spotify Canvas and Storylines incorporating extra video footage from the event. Those bells and whistles include Jarmusch’s exclusive interview with The Raconteurs as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the recording of “Blank Generation,” featuring a special visit from original Voidoids guitarist Ivan Julian explaining the song’s guitar hook to the band.

Here's a little more info about that awesome recording studio, Electric Lady:

With origins steeped in Jimi Hendrix, Patti Smith, Stevie Wonder, David Bowie, and many others, New York City's legendary Electric Lady Studios has inspired the world's greatest artists for five decades running. Introduced as "A Jimi Hendrix Vision," Electric Lady opened its doors in 1970 and became the first recording facility owned, operated, and imagined by a musician for musicians. Today, the studio hosts a new generation of groundbreaking artists such as Jack Antonoff, Childish Gambino, James Blake, St. Vincent, and Lana Del Rey. It is the oldest operational recording facility in the Northeastern United States.

Electric Lady's ongoing collaboration with Spotify includes a partnership with its Spotify Singles program, which has taken up residency in one of the studio's five rooms and has been recording new music with artists such as Daniel Caesar and Vampire Weekend since early last year. "It is an amazing relationship and something that we hope continues for years to come," says Lee Foster, Electric Lady's Operating Partner. "We are grateful for Spotify's support and help in continuing the studio's great legacy — and to The Raconteurs for providing a legendary day of music."
