Ivory Tower was formed in 1997 and consists of 3 members - a composer/musician, David L. Wicklein-and 2 singers, Linda Wicklein and Kathy Coe. The music is hard to place in any one genre. It is replete with soaring melodies, beautiful lyrics, and luscious harmonies. Though recorded in Springfield, MO and mixed and mastered in Branson, MO, David actually composed the music on a Florida beach called Pass-A-Grille, which is really a community of it's own that many consider the "CAPE COD" of Florida beaches. The music of Ivory Tower was first placed on the World Wide Web on the music site MP3. Out of thousands of songs on this site, Ivory Tower's songs consistently charted in the top positions, with many going to Number 1 in their genre. In the Euro-pop genre, which included some 4000 artists, Ivory Tower's "Burgandy and Blue" reached Number 1 on 3 different occasions! Although the Internet exposure had it's pluses and minuses, it allowed Ivory Tower to be heard worldwide. They received emails and CD orders from 51 countries at one time or another, a testimonial to the universal appeal of their music. They have also been featured on National Public Radio, and many local Television broadcasts. One of their songs, a beautiful instrumental entitled "The Last Dolphin", was chosen as the trailer song (finale) in a film documentary. Though not yet a household name, Ivory Tower is being distributed in certain countries in Europe (predominantly France, England and Germany), in some of the Scandinavian countries, and along the East coast in America, where their music is on the radio. They are currently attempting to distribute their music into the southern states and Florida, where 2 of the members recently moved. The music of Ivory Tower has been described as "Candy for the ears."
