This EP, a power rock extravaganza and one of the definitive lessons in ultra-rock, is the second release from Uncle Dave's Rock Service. We believe in the music and the music's statement. Listen and learn, young minions! -- Uncle Dave Lawton Constitution - Scott Rains, As a follow-up, a listen to Uncle Dave's Rock Service's CD, 'The World's First Perfect Crime,' really shines a light on how a little tweak and twirl of The JuJu Beans' style makes for a great, straight up pop punk recording. Leading off with the song 'Puppet on a String' you get a sense of how wide a spectrum Uncle Dave and his cohorts in crime can cover. The rumbling bass line to open 'Lies' is followed by urgent guitars and drums and almost reminds me of Black Flag before it slips into it's Devo-esque verses and chorus. Eclectic and energetic, this song still has my toes tapping. 'Do You Think It's Alright?' offers a hand clap-styled, staccato snare drum line that makes a perfect accent to the ultra-catchy chorus. The closing track, 'No Hope, Tightrope' clocks in at just over 3-minutes and serves as the project's requisite epic. With a thundering, tom tom percussive rhythm and twangy, distorted power chords, it ends the album on an apex.
