2015 marks the 300th anniversary of the birth of French harpsichord master and composer Jacques Duphly. Duphly's life bookended the reigns of Louis XV and Louis XVI, intersecting with the Baroque and Classical eras. He mysteriously and suddenly disappeared from public view later in his career but his works live on. Duphly's ouevre comprise four volumes of harpsichord pieces recorded here by Canadian harpsichordist Yves-G. Préfontaine, known for his comprehensive reviews of harpsichord repertoire as well as his longtime artistic directorship of Le Festival des Couleurs de l'Orgue français, which takes place each fall at le Grand Séminaire de Montréal.
