Vinyl LP pressing. Rare gospel album from the soul singer. United showcases the musical elements of the "old" Eddie Holman, using many of the same musicians who played on some of his soul hits. Recorded at Philly's world-famous Sigma Sound Studio with Norman Harris on guitar, Ronnie Baker on bass, and keyboardist Eugene Curry, the album provides a firm rhythmic bedrock for Eddie's intricate vocal patterns. The self-penned songs range from the doo-wop flavored title track, featuring some of Eddie's best vocal ducks and swirls, to the funky 'Thank You For Saving Me'. The lilting 'Eternal Love' contains one of the most spine-tingling five seconds of music ever recorded-the word "Jesus" broken into a 12-syllable falsetto soar.
