Judy has been inducted into both the Country Gospel Music Guild's and International Country Gospel Music Association's Hall of Fame. Shelia has received Christian Country Music's "Female Artist of the Year", "Songwriter of the Year" and the "Country Gospel Female Horizon Award". Shelia also received the Governor's Commendation as "Oklahoma Native Daughter" and a special Recognition from President George W. Bush. Judy and Shelia travel together extensively throughout the U.S. performing and sharing in Churches, Festivals, Auditoriums, Cowboys For Christ and Oprys. Their concerts are a mix of performing individually and together. They have recorded nine albums individually and one album together as Bluegrass Charm, releasing music in both the Christian Country and Bluegrass markets. Judy made an appearance in the Robert Duvall movie "The Apostle" in 1997 and both Judy and Shelia have been written into a new movie to be made called "Winding Stairs Mountain". The one thing that remains constant even with all the recognitions, is their continual love for the Lord and their love for ministering the Gospel through song. Judy DeRamus - Biography Singing in public started at the early age of three for Judy as she had to stand in a chair at the local country radio station to be able to reach the microphone. Little did anyone know at the time that this shy young girl would impact literally thousands of lives in the years to come with her beautiful voice. Judy was born in Gold Beach, Oregon but became an Okie at the ripe old age of three months when her family moved back to the Oklahoma hills where they had lived prior to their West Coast years. Judy's love for music grew and after graduation from High School she traveled full time with her own country band. However, Judy's heart and desire was always in singing Gospel music. Although good things were happening to further her country music career she decided to follow her heart and re-established her relationship with God. Through the encouragement of singer / actor Hoyt Axton, Judy went back into the studios and record Gospel music with a country flavor. Since that time Judy has had fifteen #1 songs and four Grammy Nomination Entries, becoming the youngest female inductee into Country Gospel Music's Hall of Fame and won the Female Vocalist of the Decade Award from the International Country Gospel Music Association. Judy won Female Vocalist of the Year six out of ten years in the Decade of the 90's as well as being nominated by TNN / Music City News for a Christian Country award. Judy has recorded seven CDs and three of them has been with the legendary Jordanaires that recorded with Elvis Presley. The State of Tennessee honored her in presenting her Tennessee's Outstanding Achievement Award. The U.S. Congress presented her A Congressional Certificate of Special Recognition for her contributions to the music industry. Judy has also made an appearance in the movie 'The Apostle' staring Robert Duvall. Judy's home town of Broken Bow, Oklahoma where she lives with her husband Doug and children has declared February 4th as Judy DeRamus Day. Judy records for Nashville Gospel Records and travels together with her sister Shelia Lewis ministering in song performing in Churches, festivals, auditoriums, Cowboys for Christ and Oprys. Of all that she has received through the years, her heart to help people with the love of the Lord shines even brighter. Shelia Lewis - Biography When you think of recording artists from Oklahoma, many names come into mind. Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire and Vince Gill just to name a few. However, all you have to do is travel down into Southeastern Oklahoma and you'll discover Shelia Lewis, a lady from Broken Bow that takes a back seat to no one when it comes to the talent of singing and song writing. Shelia always had it in her heart to sing and in her early teen years, she found many open doors in churches, at weddings and with the High School Choir to share her music. Shelia had dreams of recording but the dreams, seemed to die on the vine as her direction went instead to marrying young and raising a family. Shelia, pretty well considered that those early dreams of recording, had all but disappeared until one day the Lord birthed in her a new talent of songwriting and the dreams were revived. The Lord began to give her songs and he opened the door for her to go to Nashville and record her first CD entitled 'Rise Up Overcomers'. With immediate success in radio with her first single 'When I Look To You' going #2 in the national charts and then her single 'Jesus Lane' hitting #1 in main stream Country music in France followed by another #1 song with 'Rise Up Overcomers', Shelia began to receive recognition for not only being an excellent vocalist but also as one of the best songwriters in Christian Country and Country Gospel music. Shelia has since recorded her second CD entitled "Love Never Fails" and already her first two singles released "CPR" and "Love Never Fails" has gone #1 on the national charts. Shelia has received seven Grammy Entry Nominations for her work, six #1 songs, 'Horizon Female Artist of the Year', 'Female Artist of the Year', 'Songwriter of the Year' and 'Duo of the Year' with Judy DeRamus. The recognitions have come from the Governor of Oklahoma giving her Oklahoma's highest honor as 'Oklahoma Native Daughter' and a special recognition from President George W. Bush. Shelia records for Nashville Gospel Records and makes her home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma with her husband Eric and children. Shelia travels together with her sister Judy DeRamus and ministers in song performing in Churches, festivals, auditoriums, Cowboys for Christ and Oprys.
