The Osceola and Foster: A Florida Story in Song is a Florida history project begun in Feb. 2012 at the Okeechobee Battlefield State Park. Jed Marum and Rickey E. Pittman are known and respected musicians and storytellers. The stories of early Florida and especially those of the Seminole Nation, touched their hearts and fired their spirits. This special edition CD was produced to commemorate the occasion of the annual reenactment of the fiercest battle of the Second Seminole War. It is a collection of traditional songs that helped shaped antebellum Florida and contains original songs to further tell the story of Osceola and his people. The collection tells a story of the early people who settled Florida, allowing us a brief look into their hearts, their daily lives, their joys and grief's, their conflicts, and their struggle to retain their land and dignity. © Boston Road Records, 2013.
