Digitally remastered and expanded two CD set, the first ever release on CD of the 1981 debut album from Freeez. Southern Freeez includes the two hit singles 'Southern Freeez' (UK #8) which was recently covered by Beverley Knight and 'Flying High' (UK #35). Freeez were the UK's leading new wave Jazz-Funk band of the early 1980's, and this expanded edition includes all their early pre-album tracks and singles as well as a complete package of all known remixes including the whole of their 1984 Anti-Freeez electro-tinged remix album. Of interest to fans too is the inclusion of a couple of completely unheard and competent demos from the period that demonstrate the virtuosity of their Jazz-Funk credentials. This edition includes a fully illustrated 16 page color booklet with reminiscences by original founding members John Rocca and Peter Maas.
