Title: Presents A Celebration Of Contemporary West Coast Jazz
Artist: Lewis, Vic
Label: Candid Records
Product Type: COMPACT DISCS
UPC: 708857971121
Genre: Jazz

(2-CD set) the idea for this special double CD presentation of contemporary West Coast jazz came from Vic as a special celebration, not only of the music but also of Vic's 75th birthday - July 29th, 1994. The two separate sessions presented here were made in 1993 and 1994 respectively. They are each equally fascinating in their own right. The earlier session featured five reeds and the 1994 date had five brass, providing wonderfully rich textures to the arrangements specially written to showcase the lush trombone of Andy Martin. Featuring Andy Martin with Bill Perkins, Bob Cooper, Bob Efford, Jack Nimitz, Don Shelton, Charlie Lopez, Steve Huffstetter, Bob McCheskie, Tom Worthington, Alex Eyles, Sue Raney, John Leitham and Bod Leatherbarrow.
