'A piece of work the takes your breath away. Hats off to you for the dedication, hard work and musicality that the band pour into each new album. Oblivion is a clear sample of all those virtues. Koji Hirata's brilliant bandoneon solo, gives marvelous life to 'Soledad'. As I witness Cambatango's constant evolution it makes me proud to have once been Koji's teacher. Kudos to the Cuarteto Típico Cambatango!' - Néstor Marconi Cambatango presents it's album Oblivion. This is a tribute from Cambatango to the origins of our city music. There are also, chronologically speaking, pieces from the 40s, which kept the spirit of Tango while melodies and harmonies became more complex. Later on, by the 80s and even before, Astor Piazzolla, one of the greatest innovators for Buenos Aires Music and worldwide composer gives twist to Tango. We include, in this album, two wonderful compositions written by Astor: Oblivion and the 3er movement of Tango Suite, which was originally made for guitar duet and for the first time we adapted to our quartet. We want to highlight, before ending, the huge function that bandoneon fulfills in Buenos Aires folk music, through and exquisite Tango-Canción, Soledad, written by Carlos Gardel. It can be appreciated as well in Caccini's Ave María, where the bandoneon somehow reflects it's religious origins. We hope you enjoy this album we recorded in Buenos Aires with so much enthusiasm!!!
