When Antonio de la Malena sings, he sings flamenco puro, flamenco de raíz, the flamenco of his parents and his grandparents and his great-grandparents. And he doesn´t stop singing. We were unable to fit 10 tracks onto one album, so opted for this double album with a total of 2 hours of flamenco singing (16 tracks). If you are a flamenco fan, you will love this. He sings all the usual (bulerias, alegrias, tientos-tangos, seguiriyas, soleá) and many forms not usually heard (trilla, bambera, malagueña...). One of the best gitano (Gypsy) singers from Jerez de la Frontera, a city called the 'cradle of flamenco,' he has toured over every continent in the world except for Australia and Antarctica. SOME REVIEWS: The double CD is 'a work that is a result of total maturity, as well as artistic and professional mastery....' David Montes, Flamencomanía (Jan. 2013) '...powerful, expressive and moving flamenco cante,...the double CD has the essential freedom of expression that good flamenco needs' Therese Vasilly Saba (Nov. 2012)
