With a raw, minimalist aesthetic in mind, The History of Colour TV completed work on their 3rd full-length in six days, recorded and mixed by Peter Deimel at the legendary Black Box studio in France. It's an album of sparse, immediate performances. The band is heard live and without artifice, from fleeting moments of near-silence, to elongated passages of guitar meltdowns. It's a cycle of fractured, ominous narratives - songs haunted by indeterminate characters and small-town wilderness, stories of emotion without release, of things happening because nothing is... And within the songs' elongated structures and narrative themes, The History of Color TV blend their customary melodic sensibilities with noisy echoes of the early American underground. The History of Color TV was formed in 2010 and is currently based in Berlin, Germany.
