Title: People Hold on
Label: Elemental
Product Type: COMPACT DISCS

Digitally remastered edition in gatefold mini LP jacket including inner sleeve with complete information. Elemental Music proudly announces the ultimate remastered edition of one of the most acclaimed records in the history of Soul music: People... Hold On, the second album by former Temptations' vocalist Eddie Kendricks which was originally released in the Spring of 1972 on the Tamla imprint of Motown Records. This sensational release was a concept album dedicated to black America. Addressing the truth of African-American life and aspiration in this time of social and personal change, it was an album tailor-made for the expanding social and political consciousness within the community -and it also resonated mightily with the many interested outside listeners who were fueling the rise of progressive black FM radio, and the eclectic, open-minded club underground of young black, Latino and gay/gay-friendly outcasts. The floor-shaking rhythmic builds and wild, repeated emotional flights of "Girl, You Need a Change of Mind" are frequently cited as the single groundbreaking model for the breaks and changes of disco music. Years before the arrival of the maxi-single on 12 inch format, DJs from the east coast club scene as David Mancuso or Danny Krivit, would play tracks directly from the album and began to spin "Girl You Need a Change of Mind" because of it's length (7:33 min.). People... Hold On had been out for over 6 months before radio caught on.
