"In April Came the Dawning of the Red Suns," released in 1973, is the second and final album by the American rock band Ramatam, featuring female/transgender lead guitarist April Lawton (born Gregory R. Ferrara). This album was recorded as a trio after the departure of singer and guitarist Mike Pinera, formerly of Iron Butterfly, and drummer Mitch Mitchell of The Jimi Hendrix Experience. The trio consisted of guitarist April Lawton, multi-instrumentalist Tommy Sullivan, and Jimmy Walker, who replaced Mitchell on drums. The band eventually collapsed in 1974 due to internal and external pressures regarding the band's direction.
