Bill Harris started out as the lead guitarist with the famous vocal group, "The Clovers". By 1956, he was living with Cannonball Adderley and making jazz recordings for Emarcy. At the same time, he studied classical guitar with Sophocles Papas and met Segovia. Bill went on to open the famous blues venue in NE Washington called "Pigfoot" while hosting the only radio blues show in the city, at the time, "Hootie Blues".
