Craig Kinsey's second solo album, American Roots and Machines, carries the punch of his diverse life. It starts off very strong with a dark and melodic tone in the opening track 'Dissatisfied'. As the album progresses, so do the genres. The album continues while creating hard rock songs like 'I'm Not Part of Scene' and then followed with a modern gospel track called, 'New World Now' that will turn everyone's head and ears to the genius of his work. Blues pays homage to Houston's gypsy and frontier style with the blues track 'Broke and Hungry'. 'American Roots and Machines' is Kinsey's second solo effort following the critically acclaimed 'The Burdener' album; apart from the Sideshow Tramps, a band with a long history of surviving floods, fires, police raids, and a shipwreck while receiving the title "legendary" and "Best Stage Act" by the - Houston Press. Craig's singer songwriter mentality is strongly displayed in the epic and historical civil war ballad 'Gettysburg'. Beautifully written tracks like 'To Kill a Mockingbird' and 'Say Jesus (Jesus talks to a Homeless Man)', displays Kinsey's ability bring down the tone and focus on the lyrics. Every song seems like a new artist on a different journey but collectively it all comes together for an incredible start to finish album that is polished and profound. The album is a concept album that takes you on a musical revolution through the history of American music. Come join the historical musical revolution...
