Artist: Wells, Junior

Product Type: COMPACT DISCS
UPC: 8436542018814
Genre: Blues

EU-only digitally remastered collection. A mercurial master of the blues, Junior Wells was considered the direct musical descendant of harmonica giants "Sonny Boy" Williamson and Little Walter. Wells' piercing harmonica sound and soul--drenched vocals helped define the classic post--war Chicago blues. He also played and recorded with Muddy Waters, Earl Hooker, Buddy Guy, Bonnie Raitt and The Rolling Stones. This quintessential collector's edition contains 30 remastered studio tracks, consisting of a selection of the sensational early sides Junior Wells made (accompanied by such masters as Muddy Waters, Syl Johnson, Earl Hooker, Willie Dixon, and Otis Spann) for different independent labels, like Profile, Chief and USA Records, between 1953 and 1963. Included here are his most famous and enduring singles: "Messin' with the Kid", "Come on in This House", "Hoodoo Man," and "It Hurts Me Too," among others. Some of the material here isn't available on other collections, nor have these seminal recordings ever been previously compiled on one CD. This is an indispensable set for any fan of Chicago Blues.
