Composer Hannes Kerschbaumer's chamber music is the focus of this new recording from the Klangforum Wien. The pieces include works for quarter-tone accordion and ensemble, a string quartet, as well as a piece for tenor recorder and prepared viola. Kerschbaumer's music does not compromise, it is intense and diverse - here is a young composer to watch! Hannes Kerschbaumer was born in 1981 in Brixen (South-Tyrol, Italy). He studied composition with Gerd Kühr, Pierluigi Billone, Beat Furrer and Georg Friedrich Haas. His music has been performed in festivals such as Internationale Ferienkurse Darmstadt, Wien Modern, musikprotokoll at the steirischer herbst, Wittener Tage neuer Kammermusik, Wien Modern, Festival Transart, Klangspuren Schwaz, Bludenzer Tage zeitgemäßer Musik, World Saxophone Congress 2012, the Opera Graz, and the Festival Traiettorie. He lives as a freelance composer in Absam (Austria).
