The follow-up to pianist Larry Vuckovich's critically acclaimed "Street Scene" CD (TCH 684). The "High Wall" theme is a rare, hauntingly beautiful gem that Larry discovered from the 1947 film noir of the same name. There are four original Vuckovich pieces, including "View from Telegraph Hill", a lovely ballad. Vuckovich creates a hot mambo arrangement of the traditional Russian Gypsy piece "Dark Eyes". Reuniting with Vuckovich on "High Wall" are bassist Larry Grenadier, percussionists Hector Lugo and Vince Delgado, who performed on "Street Scene". Other internationally known musicians joining them are drummers Eddie Marshall and Chuck McPherson, with bassist Paul Keller.
