The title 'Mettle' reflects the spirit of the songs throughout this album. Lyrically and vocally, FUTURE DRIVEN stretches out and covers many emotional highs and lows of the human experience with power, range, and versatility. Well, Future Driven of course. Future Driven is a three man muscle band with a metal edge that's all their own. Their new CD appropriately titled Mettle, deserves it's own special medal of honor. This alternative CD is pretty good because these guys can actually sing. And the lyrics aren't bad either. One of the better songs is 'The Night the World Will Cry,' an acoustic song with a message about a collapsing planet left in the hands of inadequate world leaders. Future Driven's vocals are on key, the music is on cue and lead singer Matt Zuber's voice is captivating. In addition to vocals, Zuber takes on the task of electric, bass, and acoustic guitars, keyboards and percussion. Band mates Nathaniel Davis and Wayne Staples back him up with drums, bass and vocals. It's obvious through their music, these guys were born to perform. If it isn't this, you're missing out! This CD is dark and powerful and flows from one track to the next. 'Closer' and 'Had Enough' are 2 of my favorite tracks on this CD.
