In their debut album 'Christmasse Comes But Once A Year', the Montana A Cappella Society presents a distinctive collection of holiday music, unpretentious in it's delivery of the pure human voice and resonating with the group's characteristic sound and precision. This remarkable vocal ensemble from the Bitterroot Valley of Western Montana has received wide audience acclaim. The Society performs regionally, promoting awareness and appreciation of the art of a cappella singing through live performance, recordings and educational programs in schools. Under the direction of Artistic Director Don Matlock, these all volunteer, non-professional singers create their own unique blend and signature sound. Typical selections range from Renaissance madrigals to vocal jazz, classic love songs, patriotic, folk tunes and toe-tapping gospel, with interesting new arrangements and challenging music styles. The chorus demonstrates it's versatility by performing in concert, for private bookings and as guest artists at music festivals, community and civic events. This intrepid group of Montanans raised funds and traveled to San Francisco to participate as invited performers at the Great Dickens Christmas Fair, a magical re-creation of Victorian London. Celebrating the Holiday season with concerts like stage productions, with singers in replica 1800's period costumes, the Society delights audiences with a diverse repertoire of both secular and sacred music spanning eight centuries, multiple cultures and languages. Look for our second CD in 2008 - 600 years of love songs! The Montana A Cappella Society is a non-profit, public benefit 501(c)(3) corporation.
