Paul Siebert steps out with his debut album 'Echoes Of An Era,' ready to touch the hearts of a wide range of audiences. Each of the 10 selections is a heartfelt, personal portrait with a story that appeals to both young and old. Fans of Siebert have called his music 'Inviting! Warm and Wonderful!' Born in Denver Colo., his earliest influences ranged from Hank Snow, Johnny Cash, Jim Reeves, Steve Miller, Harry Nielson and a Gibson J160E guitar his dad Lou bought new in 1954- (still one of his main guitars). The opening song 'Young In Us' commands melodic acoustic as well as carefully crafted Stratocaster guitar leads along with deep, thoughtful lyrics and relaxed vocals (good for those 'headphone days'). His hammer dulcimer compositions and ability to integrate that haunting sound into new material will appeal to the folk listeners as well as the classic rock crowd. Title track 'Echoes Of An Era' opens with a verse spoken in Low German, telling a story with advice from Paul's great-grandfather and leads into a toe-tapping bluegrass/country anthem complete with banjo and introspective Dobro leads and fills. The disk contains three instrumentals ranging from beautifully orchestrated hammer dulcimer work to finger style solo acoustic guitar. Special guest bassist Rod Jost shines with smooth, intellectual-style bass solos and fretless slides. Percussionist Michael Kaiman completes several of the more rockin' tunes with precise and thoughtful percussion including a bodhrán drum line in 'Regina'. If you like the warm precious feeling of the love of family and heartfelt human experiences 'Echoes Of An Era' will be a cherished addition to your CD library.
