Product Type: 7-INCH SINGLE

Genre: Dance

Limited seven inch green vinyl pressing. Originally released in 1980 on Phase 7's highly sought-after LP, Playtime. The band recorded at Honolulu's Broad Recording Studio, not long after Mike Lundy and Aura finished the final touches on their albums (both recently got the reissue treatment on Aloha Got Soul). Phase 7 was among the most successful disco bands in Hawaii during the mid-1970s. Originally founded by Van de Guzman and Hemingway Jasmin, the group consisted of the island's top brass players and toured throughout the West Coast, Canada, and Hawaiian Islands. Their main gig was at the Infinity nightclub in the Sheraton Waikiki. Prior to Phase 7's residency, the hotel had only ever hired mainland acts such as the Burgundy Express and the Lewis and Clark Expedition. This 7-inch was initially released in May 2017 on black vinyl as a collaborative release between Japan's DJ Muro and Aloha Got Soul. The Japanese edition - released on DJ Muro and DJ Nori's Captain Vinyl label - sold out in about a week. It was limited to 500 copies. This US-pressed version is available as a limited run of 500 copies on green vinyl. "So Good To Be In Love" is an uplifting Brazilian style disco-funk tune composed by Phase 7's Les Fernandez. "Could It Be Love" mellows things out with an original soul groover written by band mate Sandy Pascual. Full album reissue of Phase 7's Playtime coming soon.
