An obscure easy listening album from the mid 1970's, vocalist Sandy Sims' "Teach Me Tonight" has an interesting distinction that it was produced by Jimmy Bowen who was originally hired by Frank Sinatra to produce records for the Reprise label and was responsible for bringing Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood together ("These Boots Are Made for Walking") and also produced chart hits for Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr.. After leaving Los Angeles for Nashville in the early 1970's, Bowen revolutionized the way music was recorded in Nashville and helped launch the careers of Garth Brooks, George Strait, Reba McEntire and Hank Williams Jr.. among others. Although Sandy Sims is not a household name, her late 1970's album features classic pop tunes from a wide array of writers and displays unique production qualities that would become the trademark sound of a very successful producer. All selections newly remastered.
