Pink colored vinyl. London-based singer/guitarist Dan Treacy took the Mod sound of the mid-1960s and channelled it in other directions through the Television Personalities, the oddball, on-off group he founded with two friends in 1977. The 1995 solo Treacy effort I Was A Mod Before You Was A Mod veers between the humour of 'As John Belushi Said' and 'Little Woody Allen' to the angst and self-loathing of 'A Long Time Gone' and 'I Can See My Whole World Crashing Down,' and there's the catchy Mod homage of the title track. Tragic, spastic, and wildly fearless, this is one of Treacy's most personal, vulnerable, and sought-after releases.
