Latin teenagers, mostly the sons and daughters of Cuban exiles arriving in the US in the early and mid-sixties, striving to hold on to their identity with a burning desire to make their own mark in their new found homeland, innocently gave birth in their backyards and garages to what would come to be defined as the "Miami Sound." It was the "Open Houses" of the 1970's that provided a staging place for these young bands to perfect their craft and ultimately put Miami on the musical map. Presented here for the first time is a true retrospective of that magical era, featuring the bands that battled it out for the top spot on the Miami Open House scene. All selections newly remastered.
