Ryan Hiller has known that music was going to be the focus of his life ever since he was born. He began singing at the early age of 5 years old, and took up the guitar a year later. He began playing professionally at the early age of 14 for private parties in Park City, Utah. By the time he was out of high school, Ryan had been playing in over five working bands, one of which, \'Real Eyes,\' had opened up for the Black Eyed Peas and John Scofield. Ryan decided at age 18 to move to New Orleans, because he wanted to take his playing to the next level. He received a degree in jazz performance from the University of New Orleans five years later. While working on his degree he worked with may of the local artists, including Amy Trail, The Beacon Light Gospel Choir, The Zion Trinity Gospel Choir, The University of New Orleans Gospel Choir, and After 8. Ryan played at all of the local venues, including House Of Blues, Tipitinas, The Maple Leaf, The Carrolton Station, The Dock, etc... He later went on a national tour with Theresa Andersson, and decided that he one day wanted to live in Southern California. After Hurricane Katrina, Ryan decided that would be a good time to try something new. Ryan now resides in San Diego, CA, where he is self employed as a full time musician. Ryan recently released his new self-titled EP, "The P.U.R.E. Project." Ryan composed and arranged all of the material for the project, and performs all of the guitar and vocals on the CD. He collaborated with Kevin Cooper on bass from the late Ike Turner band, Tres Hodgens on drums, Adam Tierney and Brian Herrit on keys, and Eduardo Sabogal on drums and percussion. Ryan's goal was to fuse together the musical styles of Latin with Funk, Rhythm and Blues with Jazz, and to put a little bit of Soul on top of the underlying Rock foundation to tie it all together. Now his goal is to let it be heard!
