Atlanticos, the first collaboration from Brazilian guitarist Ricardo Silveira and Honduran guitarist Roberto Tauffic, is a collection of acoustic guitar duo's which is sure to thrill both fans of Brazilian jazz and long time admirers of Ricardo's back catalog alike. Spontaneous and beautifully recorded over two days in Rio in 2012, we are thrilled to present this work of two players we respect so very much. Multiple Grammy-nominated Silveira has been an Adventure Music artist for over ten years and is one of Brazil's leading session players and one of the most in demand sidemen in Brazilian music today. For over thirty years, guitarist Silveira has earned international acclaim by bridging the music of his native Brazil with contemporary American jazz. In constant demand as a studio musician and musical director, Silveira has collaborated with countless masters. But he is equally renowned as a composer and solo artist; his eleven albums draw upon a wealth of sounds from the two countries he knows best. "I always liked different styles and seemed to find links between them," he says. "It's all music." He has played with and recorded with the likes of Gail Costa, Milton Nascimento, Toninho Horta, Maria Rita, Ney Mattogrosso, João Bosco, the late Herbie Mann, Egberto Gismonti, David Sanborn, Ernie Watts, Pat Metheny and countless others throughout his career. Taufic was Born in Honduras in 1966 to a Palestinian mother, and moved to Brazil when he was five years old. After five years, he started his musical studies and at 15 he performed on classical guitar and cavaquinho at several festivals with various bands playing Brazilian popular music and Choro. At 17, Roberto started his career as session man working on several productions at some of the best recording studios of his home state of (Rio Grande do Norte - Brasil).
