The band 'Kafka Ibiki,' consisting of Jim O'Rourke, Eiko Ishibashi, and Tatsuhisa Yamamoto, brings together musicians who are gaining international attention, creating sounds that can only be produced by this trio. Continuing their live-focused activities in recent years, they are set to release their third album, following 'Okite' and 'nemutte. ' The recordings from a 'recording live' event held at Shimokitazawa ADRIFT in 2023 have been re-edited by Jim O'Rourke, who also handled mixing and mastering. The live recordings were done by their close associate, Joe Talia. This album captures the improvisational performances that can only be created by the three, yet it transcends a mere live album; like their previous works, it stands strong as an original album crafted by Jim O'Rourke. A new narrative emerges from the recorded documentary. Despite being completely independent musicians, their project, which they regularly pursue as a life's work, continually deepens their musical combination. Each member transcends the fixed role of instrumentalist, collaborating to create a singular piece of music, adding a unique twist to their sound. The essence of improvisational music is cherished, and together, they compose a piece in real-time, defining the music of Kafka Ibiki. Therefore, discussing what kind of sound this music represents is nonsensical; instead, it should be enjoyed from various angles as the unique sound born from Kafka Ibiki is presented. The evolution of Kafka Ibiki's music is now etched onto this record. LISTEN: https://kafkasibiki. Bandcamp. com/album/kafkas-ibiki Tracklist:The A and B side are structured as one continuous piece.
