Two CDs. One of the most significant dub albums to see issue. Includes 22 tracks new to CD. Features dubs of some of reggae music's biggest hits. By early 1975, dub had become an integral part of the Jamaican music landscape with most 7-inch singles now sporting a hard and heavy mix of the vocal or instrumental track that featured on the A-side. Yet for all it's popularity, relatively few long-players showcasing the genre had, until this time, seen issue. 'Dubbing With The Observer' was among the very first dub albums to become commercially successful on both sides of the Atlantic. Produced by Winston 'Niney' Holness and mixed by pioneering sound engineer and dub master, Osbourne Ruddock AKA King Tubby, the collection featured killer mixes of tracks previously popularized by Dennis Brown, Ken Boothe, Delroy Wilson and Sang Hugh. This seminal album finally receives the deluxe treatment with it's 13 tracks bolstered by further dub masterpieces from Niney's esteemed Observer catalogue, all of which originally saw release between 1974 to 1976 when the genre was at the peak of it's popularity and inventiveness. With 22 tracks new to CD, the collection is an essential acquisition for fans of classic dub, performed, mixed and produced by some of Jamaica's greatest music makers at the very peak of their creative powers.
